Tefsa offers a line of vacuum belt filters that can be configured to meet the needs of almost any industrial process that requires filtration.  Many options exist for filter media, cake washing, cake discharge, and unit capacity. Construction materials can also be selected to suit the operation environment and substances to be processed.  Process variables can be adjusted to achieve almost any desired separation results.  Belt travel speed, applied vacuum pressure, load level, cake washing quality, and cake drying time can all be adjusted to meet the needs of your particular process.

The units are of a simple, mechanical operation and and occupy a minimized foot print.  Periodic maintenance and cleaning are simple and quick processes.  Filter cloths can be supported on either a rubber belt or a trays system to which the vacuum is applied.  The vacuum belt system is ideal for larger applications such as those in the mining industry.  It is an extremely robust and durable system.  The vacuum trays system which typically consists of stainless steel belts supporting the filter cloth is best suited to smaller units and to those with filtrates that are corrosive.  It is also preferred in situations where simplified or light-weight installations are needed.

Continuously discharge bags, automatically and dust free

The TBMA ‘Galahad’ automatic bag slitter is suitable for the continuous and dust-free handling of all types of single or multi-layered bags. Any size of paper or plastic bag, whether lightly or densely filled with granular or powdered products, can be cut and emptied without problems. Standard operation will handle approximately 20 tons per hour, however, depending on the properties of the product and the condition of the bags, capacities of up to 50 tons per hour can be obtained.

Continuous, automatic sludge dehydration from a leader in industrial filtration

Tefsa has been providing belt press filters that meet these needs for more than 30 years.  Over 2,000 belt filter press models are installed in over 1,000 customer facilities worldwide.  The belt filter press distinguishes itself from competitors’belt filter presses by an effective pre-dehydration phase that includes a turning of the filtrate bed to enhance initial water extraction, as well as overall robustness and reliability.  Careful attention has been paid to the gradual application of pressure between the belts and shearing action caused by forcing the filtrate material through rollers of varying sized to optimize the efficiency of the filtration and dehydration process.  Several variants are available to most efficiently meet the needs of your process and the belt width of any model can be selected to achieve capacities from 10 to 35  cubic meters per hour.

Optimized extraction of solids for maximum material recovery

Tefsa has been providing high yield filter presses that meet these needs for more than 40 years.  The mining industry is well served by this line because of the optimal solids extraction results that can be achieved.  Applications involving metal concentrates, industrial minerals, coal, and tailings plants in particular have benefited from Tefsa’s expertise in high yield filter presses.

The high yield filter press can be run in a completely automatic and programmable mode controlling all process variables to ensure desired results even as the characteristics of the treated material vary.  Parameters that can be controlled include sludge feeding, cake discharge, compressed air blowing, membrane squeezing, filter cloth moving, and filter cloth washing.  Squeezing of the filter plates is achieved via four horizontal hydraulic cylinders supported in a heavy duty, over sized frame and powered by a specially designed and easily accessed power pack.  Unit capacity is determined by the size and number of filter plates.  Future expansion of the units can be achieved economically by the addition of more filter plates within the frame.

Low cost, batch production of extremely dry filter cakes

Tefsa has been a leader in the design and manufacture of high quality filtration equipment for over 40 years. The company’s expertise is applied to the smaller scale production of dry cakes from slurries with their line of side bar filter presses. The filter press features a hydraulic ram and filter plates integrated into a rugged frame which includes two horizontal side tie bars to resist the force of the ram as the filter plates are squeezed.  The filter plates include handles supported by the side bars and are easily accessed for removal. Standard filtration pressure range is between 6 and 16 bar with specialized units being capable of up to 60 bar.  These high pressures generate extremely low moisture content cakes and maximum liquid recovery while requiring minimal use of additives.

Best suited for pilot or smaller scale production applications, the side bar filter press offers a range of available filter areas from 1.7 to 253.5 square meters and is used for batch rather than continuous processes. Tefsa offers models of side bar filter presses that run in manual mode; where the hydraulic ram is actuated by a manual pump and plates and cake changed manually, semi-automatic mode; where the ram is actuated via an electric pump and the plates and cake are changed manually, and fully automatic mode; where the ram, actuated electrically and the plates are transported and cake discharged without operator intervention.  All of the models are of a very simple and robust design and are known for extremely long service lives and minimal maintenance requirements.

An extremely clean and efficient press filtration process

Tefsa has been a leader in the design and manufacture of press filtration equipment for over 40 years. The company’s overhead filter press represents the state-of-the-art for press filters offering cleaner operation, much better access to filter plates for inspection and filter cloth changing, and fast, reliable automatic plate discharge and change out.  Since the filter plates in these machines are suspended from above and the caked is discharged at the bottom, the plate transport mechanism stays completely clean and can thus move very quickly and be operated automatically for long periods of time with very little maintenance. Furthermore, since there is no plate transport mechanism blocking access to the sides of the plate stack, an operator has full access to either side of the filter plates making filter cloth and change out and plate inspection much quicker and easier than with other units. Many options and accessories are available to suit your particular process needs and capacities range from 81 to 1.066 square meters of filtration area.

Ventilex Continuous fluid bed dryers apply world-leading fluid bed technology to high-throughput bulk processes. By choosing a good combination of gas speed and mechanical movement, you will be able to process granular products with a wide range of grain sizes while forming a minimum amount of dust.
